By Rail: The cheapest way to visit Bhutan from India is by train. But Bhutan has no train stations. Indians need to reach a station that is closer to the border of Bhutan. After reaching that station, they will get a bus or taxi to reach Phuntsholing.

Karmabhoomi Express which starts from sealdah to hasimara railway station. From there, theyu can take a taxi which will take them to Phuntsholing within in 40 minutes
By Road: It takes only 18 hours to reach Phuntsholing from Kolkata. Govt. of Bhutan operates THE SERVICES OF Bus. You can simply take a bus ride to Bhutan at a cost of INR 653 only.
By flight: Bhutan airlines and the Royal Bhutan Airlines are the two airlines which carries Indian passengers to Bhutan. You will get the flights from various cities like Kolkata, New Delhi, Guwahati, and Bagdogra which will take you to Paro International airport in Bhutan
Entry permits required to visit Bhutan
You can stay at Bhutan up to 15 days if you have an entry permit. You can process for it at the airport on arrival and if you are travelling by road, you can process for it at the immigration office. Following are the documents required for entry permit:
- Voter ID card or Indian passport(having at least 6 moths validity
- Application form of entry permit (Duly filled)
- Passport Size photographs (Two)
